Chakam Nigeria
Chakam is a technology organisation building civic participation and democratic accountability tools across Africa. Technology is its instrument, and AI is one class of technology among several. Community is a core operating principle, not a feature.
Chakam Nigeria is its edition for Nigeria: a free, independent guide to Nigeria's elections. It is non-profit and non-partisan, and it is not INEC.
The assistant is
- A retrieval-based system built on a curated legal corpus.
- A plain-language translator of dense statutory text.
- A non-partisan, non-commercial public information resource.
- Source-first. Every answer ends in a citation.
The assistant is not
- A lawyer or legal advisor.
- A political opinion machine.
- A government tool or an INEC product.
- A substitute for official INEC communication.
Every corpus document is versioned and dated. When a law is replaced, the old version is archived and the new one added, so you can always see what applied when.
